Titans Baseball Club Announces New Player Development Concept at their Annual Open House

The Titans Baseball Club held their Annual Open House on Sunday, January 27th at Westminster High School.

The Titans announced their plans for the 2008 Season along with a few new concepts. The organization will field 8 teams that will compete in both the Baltimore Metro Baseball League and the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association (MABA). This is the largest participation ever in the history of the organization, which is very exciting with the celebration of the Titans' 10th Season.

Hank Adams, Vice President and Manager of the 13U Metro Titans was pleased with the turnout. "It was nice to see over 150 people in attendance. It was a great opportunity to show all of the parents in the Organization what we have been working on and are excited about for 2008."

Along with introducing the 8 teams, the Titans introduced the Player Development concept that they will be implementing this Season. The players will get the opportunity to compete in two of the top leagues in the Maryland along with having the opportunity to develop their skills through the Titans' internal scouting and one-on-one coaching during their Player Development workouts. Joe Balsamo is heading up the Player Development workouts and plans to work along side the coaching staff of each of the teams to continue to develop each player in the organization.

"All along our focus, as an organization, has been to develop the young men with the goal of taking them to the next level. We now have the opportunity to do that and much more with the implementation of this new concept. This is what sets us apart from the other travel teams in the area, our focus on development," Butch Adams, President, stated about Joe's presentation at the Open House.

The Open House also allowed families an opportunity to meet one another and get to know some of the other families that make up the Titans Baseball Club. The Titans Baseball Club announced its 2007 College Scholarship Winners, Louis Sheppard and Matt Witte. Since 2001, the Titans Baseball Club has awarded $1,000.00 in scholarships per year to deserving college students.

There were also opportunities to help raise money for the Titans' Fundraising Campaign. The Titans launched a Fundraising Campaign back in November of 2007 to raise money to build their own indoor facility. The goal of this campaign is to raise $80,000.00 over the next four years through fundraisers and assistance from local businesses.

The Titans Baseball Club kicks off its 2008 Season this March as their teams participate in several area preseason tournaments.

Titans Baseball Club Announces 8th Team for 2008 Season

The Titans Baseball Club has formed an eighth team for the 2008 Summer Baseball Season. The Titans are putting together a 17U Team that will compete in the MABA League.

Kevin Compton has been named the Manager of this team and is still looking for a few players to be added to his roster. The 17U Team is currently working out on Sundays throughout January and February in the Upper Gym at Westminster High School. If any player is interested in trying out for this team, please Click Here to contact Kevin Compton.

Titans Baseball Club Launches Fund-Raising Campaign

The Titans Baseball Club has launched a fund raising campaign with the goal of raising $80,000 over the next four years, to begin building its own indoor facility.

This Indoor Facility will allow the Titans Baseball Club to hold practices, camps and clinics during the winter months when weather conditions don't permit outdoor activities. This Facility will have cages for both hitting and pitching and a multi-purpose area for fielding, etc. Baseball players of all ages will be able to come and work on their fundamentals and improve their skills. This state of the art training Facility will be a great place for, not only Titans, but all sports teams to have a place to play.

The Titans have already announced their 2nd Annual Basket Bingo to be held in March, 2008 as one of their fundraisers. Others that are scheduled for this Fundraising Campaign in 2008 are the Titans Golf Classic and their annual Titans Lottery Raffle. In addition to this, the Titans are looking for contributions from local businesses and organizations that are interested in helping young athletes.
