Titans Baseball Club Finishes 2009 with 122 Wins
The 2009 Baseball Season brought on many firsts for the Titans Baseball Club in its 11 year history. The Organization collected more wins this year than any previous year with a total of 122 wins, surpassing last year's mark of 83. The Titans finished a combined 122-102 with 1 tie for a winning percentage of .545. This year was the first time a team won more than 30 games with both the 10U and 12U achieving this mark. The 12U Titans finished with the most amount of wins at 33 while the 10U Titans finished with an Organization best .842 winning percentage and 32 wins. Two Titans teams finished in first place in their respective age divisions at 10U and 15U. Maryland Baseball Rankings had 3 Titans teams in the Top 25 with the 10U ranked #5, 12U ranked #14, and 14U ranked #24.
The Titans Baseball Club participated in both MABA and Baltimore Metro this past year. The 10U, 11U and 14U combined to go 35 & 29 in MABA while the 12U, 13U and 15U went a combined 45 & 40 in Baltimore Metro.
All teams participated in Tournaments including a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for the 12U Titans who placed 5th out of 20 teams. The 10U Titans participated in the MD State Championships at Lake Shore and placed 2nd. The Organization as a whole managed to go 42 & 33 with 1 tie in Tournament Play.

Titans Raise $3,200.00 at their 3rd Annual Bingo
The Titans Baseball Club held their 3rd Annual Bingo on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Westminster High School and raised a total of $3,200.00 towards their Fundraising Campaign. To date, the Titans have raised $13,375.00.

13U Titans Start Metro Season 3 and 0
The 13U Titans kicked off their Baltimore Metro Baseball Season on Saturday sweeping the Reisterstown Express 2-1 and 2-0. In the first game the Titans were down 1-0 heading into the 4th inning where they managed to score 2 with hits from Kai Hess, Hunter Bensky and Jake Outten. Ryan Kehr got the win striking out 6 and allowing 1 run over 5 innings. Kai Hess came in and pitched the last 2 innings striking out 5. In the second game of the double header Adam Forsythe, Jon Ritter and Kai Hess combined to shut out the Express. On Tuesday the Titans defeated the WHC Renegades 5-4 in their home opener.
The Titans look to continue their winning ways this week traveling down to Gambrills on Thursday and then hosting the North East Indians on Saturday at Winters Mill High School.
10U Titans Start MABA Season 3 and 0
The 10U Titans kicked off their MABA Regular Season beating the Finksburg Lions 10-5 on Friday, April 17th in Finksburg. The Titans swept Savage on Sunday, sweeping them 12-2 & 13-4 to improve to 3-0 in MABA. On Saturday, the Titans participated in the Spring Fling Tournament in Fallston, MD splitting a pair of games with Pasadena and HCYP. The Titans improved their overall record to 8 and 2.
The 10U Titans continue play this week on Thursday against Greenspring at their home field, Cranberry Station Elementary School at 5:45PM. They also have a double header scheduled for Sunday at home against Elkridge beginning at 1:00PM.
10U Titans Win Consolation Championship in Olney
The 10U Titans went 4-1 in the Mutiny in the Park Tourney in Olney, MD this past weekend & won the Consolation Championship. Titans defeated LUYAA in the Consolation Championship game 7-0. Titans victories were against: Team Players 5-4; BCC Hurricanes 9-6; MD Blue Jays 14-6; LUYAA 7-0. Titans outscored opponents for the weekend 43-25. Patrick Baum went 8 for 12; Tristan Buckley 7 for 11; Todd Wilmer 6 for 13; Wes Martin 5 for 11 & Ethan Rhoten 5 for 13. 8 different players recorded at least 4 hits. In the championship game, Andrew Wilmer, Trey Conine & Wes Martin combined for shutout w/ 4 strikeouts and allowing only 1 hit. Titans defense played excellent all weekend committing only 3 errors in 5 games. Congratulations to the 10U Titans for a well played Tournament.
The Titans look to begin their 2009 MABA Season beginning April 16th.
12U Titans Take 2nd in Olney
The 12U Titans went 3-2 in the Mutiny in the Park Tourney in Olney, MD this past weekend & came within a few runs of winning the Consolation Championship. The Titans qualified for the Consolation Bracket by going 1-1 on Saturday beating Burtonsville 7-6 and losing a tight game to Olney 6-5. In the Consolation Bracket the Titans beat Bethesda/Chevy Chase 9-7 and then beat HCYP - MABA in the semis 17-5 before losing to Potomac, VA 16-10 in the Championship. The Titans pitching was solid all tournament long and the bats began to heat up as the Tournament progressed. Congratulations to all the 12U Titans on a great Tournament.
Up next for the Titans is the Spring Classic Tournament in Rehoboth, DE April 18th & 19th. |
