12U Titans Place 2nd in 14th Annual Bowie Baseball Tournament
The 12U Titans placed second in the 14th Annual Bowie Tournament, Sanctioned by BPA, by losing to the Perry Hall All-Stars 7-5 on Sunday evening. The Titans jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the Top of the 1st but couldn't keep Perry Hall from eventually taking over the lead and winning in the 6 inning championship game. Patrick Crone pitched 4 solid innings in relief for the Titans. James Miller went 2 for 3 and Calvert Schaefer was 3 for 3 to lead the Titan offense.
The Titans beat the MAYO All-Stars by a score of 10-2 to advance to the Championship game behind an impressive pitching performance from Ryan Craig. Tyler Sturtz was 1-2 with 2 RBIs and Sam Wallace and Cody Torrence each had a hit and an RBI.
On Saturday the Titans were 1-1 in their Pool Play to advance them into Sunday's Championship Bracket. The Titans opened up the Tournament against Stembridge who they lost to 8-7. Mason Craig went 2 for 2 at the plate and Mitchell Sturtz was 1 for 1 with 2 walks to lead the offense for the Titans. Drew Titus was 1 for 2 and pitched 3 solid innings. After losing a heartbreaker in the morning the Titans battled back against the RBI Angels, winning 9-2 to take 2nd place in their Pool. Gene Barrett pitched 6 solid innings only allowing 2 runs for the Titans.
Thanks to a 2nd Place finish the Titans have qualified for the BPA Regional Tournament the weekend of August 10-12th. Congratulations to the 12U Titans for a well-played Tournament!
